Objective : The purpose of study is to validate the clinical utility and usability of the Korean version of the Life Space Assessment(K-LSA) which is an assessment tool of community mobility of older adults. Methods : Surveys on the clinical utility and usability of the K-LSA are carried out with a total of aoaa60 occupational and physical therapists. The surveys included the multiple choice questions on the clinical utility and open questions on the usability. Responses to multiple questions are post processed by frequency analysis and technical statistics, and responses to the open questions are categorized by common factors in each questions. Results : Average value of clinical utility ranges from 3.6 to 4.0 with positive responses of ‘fair (3 point)', ‘agree (4 point)’ and ‘strongly agree (5 point)’ being 95〜100%. Average value for clinical usability ranges from 3.6 to 4 with positive answers of 'fair (3 point)', ‘easy (4 point)’ and ‘very easy (5 point)’ being 88.3〜 100%. Additionally out of open-type questions of clinical usability, it was pointed out that the concept of ‘neighborhood’ for the life space level 3 and 4 is unclear. Conclusion : The current study and research outcomes showed that the K-LSA is a validated tool in Korean health care system for the clinical utility and usability in measuring community mobility, and that it is straightforward in practical use . It will help clinicians and therapist s promote the social participation of older adults, and set an intervention goal for enhancing community mobility. It will further help clinicians and researchers in education and research for medical intervention and goal-setting.

Objective : Migration can be a stressful process to people because they have to adjust a lot of things including habits, routine and cultural behavior. Also, Migrant can negatively impact on participation in daily meaningful occupations. Thus, the purpose of this research is to investigate whether participation in meaningful occupations after immigration and environmental factors impact the QOL in migrant women. Method : Migrant females who live in Australia were invited to participate in the study (n= 9). In this study, participation, environmental factors and QOL were measured using the questionnaire, which was developed by researchers. Purposive sampling was used to select the participants who were then asked to fill out a survey. Both quantitative data and qualitative data were collected. The SPSS program was used to process the quantitative data that was transcribed and coded. Result : Spearman's rank correlation coefficient shows that the total scale of QOL and the total scale of occupational engagement were significantly correlated at the 0.05 level. Conclusion : There was a significant relationship between quality of life and occupational engagements. Migrant women tend to have a lack of participation in meaning occupations thus, it seems to impact on their quality of life.

Objective : Purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of depression and self - efficacy on the quality of life of the elderly hospitalized in a nursing hospital and to suggest a new direction for improving the quality of life of the elderly. Methods : The target was 212 senior citizens who were hospitalized at a nursing hospital located in K city in North Gyeongsang Province. The questionnaire was structured by adding the characteristics of the subjects, the Korean Senior Depression Index (GDS-K), the Self-effective Index (WHQOL-BRFA), and the World Health Organization's Life-Enhanced scale. coded using SPSS ver.18, the depression, self-efficiency, and quality of life differences according to the general characteristics (t-test, ANOVA), and Self-efficacy, depression, and the correlation coefficient between quality of life and A multI-sentence analysis to see the impact of depression and self-efficacy on the quality of life. Results : Self - efficacy and depression according to subject characteristics were different according to length of stay, and quality of life was different in religion. The correlation between depression, self - efficacy, and quality of life of admitted elderly showed statistically significant negative correlation (p <.01) with depression in both the quality of life and self - efficacy sub - variables. The depression and the self - efficacy of the elderly had the greatest effect on the quality of life. The variables were depression (β = -. 328), social efficacy (β = .248), and physical efficacy (β = .193). Conclusion : In order to improve the quality of life of the elderly, it will be necessary to provide and develop medical care services that reduce depression and improve self - efficacy (physical and social).

Objective : This study aims to review research trends in driving rehabilitation for the disabled in South Korea since 2000 suggesting research directions for clinicians and researchers. Methods : Fifty eight articles in 16 journals listed in accredited or candidate journal lists of National Research Foundation of Korea from January, 2000 to December, 2016 were reviewed. ‘Driving rehabilitation’ and ‘driving for disabled’ were used as search terms. Descriptive statistics were used to classify articles according to study methodology, levels of evidence, study participants, research topics, and academic associations or official journals. Results : Fifty percent of analyzed researches have been published since 2012. Twenty-two studies (37.9%) were published as group comparison and correlational research. Only seven studies (12.1%) were included in evidence level Ⅰ. There were 19 studies (38.8%) conducted with brain-injured patients among 49 studies including participants. The Korean Society of Occupational Therapy Journal, having published 15 studies (25.9%) about driving rehabilitation, ranked first among the analyzed journals. In research topic, 15 (25.9%) studies were performed about clinical evaluation. Conclusion : The present study showed that the quality of driving rehabilitation-related studies has been increasing, but more intervention-based researches need to be carried out and it is also necessary to carry out various researches in related fields in order to establish efficient driving rehabilitation in Korea.

Objective : It is one of the most important job tasks to write to occupational therapist, so I want to apply the writing program to the students who use mobile language as the main communication and to investigate the effect. Methods : This study was conducted with 7 freshman students for a total of 10 sessions, once a week, for 2 hours at a time. In addition, after reading the recommended books, I made a total of two manuscripts with the book report and then carried out the supplementary instruction. Changes in the writing program were made using self - questionnaires and changes in the writing of the manuscripts were confirmed by the number of times. Results : As a result of the self-questionnaire, the participants considered the logical aspect of the writing and the consistency of the writing after participating in the writing program, and after the writing, the grammatical aspect was reviewed and the sentence was revised. In addition, the number of secondary corrections was reduced by an average of 7 times more than the number of primary corrections. Conclusion : In order to create a document which is one of the important tasks for occupational therapist, systematic education will be needed to create a more logical and grammatical error-free article.

Objective : The purpose of this study is to provide basic data on effective manpower management by analyzing the influence of occupational therapists' work experience satisfaction, organizational commitment and turnover intention. Methods : Throughout the working hours of occupational therapists working in occupational therapy rooms nationwide, the questionnaire was examined by Google, Empowerment, Job Satisfaction, Organizational Commitment and Turnover. Results : Empowerment perception level of the subjects was 3.52, Job satisfaction was 3.05, Organizational commitment 3.02, and turnover intention 3.19. The analysis of empowerment according to the general characteristics of the subjects revealed significant differences in gender, age, education level, and work experience. There was a significant difference in the organizational commitment age, education level, and patient type. The age and education level of the general characteristics of the subjects were different significantly in the empowerment and organizational commitment. Empowerment showed a positive correlation with job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Conclusion : The empowerment is an important variable affecting job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and turnover intention, which are important factors for effective job performance of occupational therapist.

Purpose : This article was to study mental health status through aggression and stress of children of multicultural families, marriage immigrant and to use them as baseline data. Method : We used questionnaire and collected them from 135 children of multicultural families who live in 2 city and 4 do. Frequency Analysis was used for Demographic Characteristics, t-test and one-way ANOVA for aggression and stress depending on demographic characteristics, and regression analysis for the factors. Result : The first, the total score of aggression of the children of multicultural families was 3.05 and the most high score was verbal aggression, 3.69. Stress was 3.66. The second, there was a significant difference between aggression depending on demographic characteristics and verbal aggression(p=.031) depending on age and anger(p=.011). There was also a significant difference between total aggression(p=.028) depending on economic level and physical aggression(p=.049), verbal aggression(p=.000), anger(p=.036), hostility(p=.042), and stress(p=.011). The third, we analysed the factors affecting aggression of children of multicultural families. There was a significant difference resulting from stepwise regression analysis(F=57.139, p<.001), the results showed a strong explanation of aggression by bad in economic status(p<.01), stress(p<.01), 10 years in age(p<.01), and 13 years in age(p<.01). Conclusion : Aggression depending on demographic characteristics of the children of multicultural families was caused by age, economic level, and stress.

Objective : The purpose of this study was to investigate establishment status of the mandatory courses designated by Ministry of Health & Welfare for qualification of sensory developmental rehabilitation specialist(SDRS), within curriculum of baccalaureate occupational therapy(BOT) programs in Korea Methods : This is a narrative study to investigate and analyze certain courses established in curriculums of all 4-years occupational therapy(OT) programs, which is 32 schools. Results : 1) The shared mandatory subject, ‘Understanding Children with Disabilities(UDC)’, has been established at 9 schools. For the branch mandatory subjects, ‘Neuroscience(NS) or Neuroanatomy’ has been established at all 32 schools, ‘Sensory Processing Dysfunctions and Intervention(SPDI)’ or ‘Sensory Integration’ has been established at 31 schools, and each of ‘Assessment & Evaluation for Children(AEC)’ and ‘Practicum of Sensory Rehabilitation(PSR)’ has been established 7 schools for same. 2) For the mandatory courses, all 32 schools were offering designated- and alternative courses of NS, SPDI, AEC, but there was no change in the number of schools offering the practicum course since there was no case of alterative for it. 3) In terms of general provision score, there were 4 schools for score 7, 4 schools for score 6, 2 schools for score 5, 1 schools for score 4, 2 schools for score 3, and 19 schools for score 2. Conclusion : Establishment of the mandatory courses required to the qualification of SDRS among the BOT programs in nation were investigated. Including alternative courses, all the branch mandatory courses except practicum course are established in all the 32 schools. However, the shared mandatory subject, UDC and the practicum subject were established in only few schools. In the provision level evaluation of BOT programs for the SDRS qualification, it is shown that many schools has been started the provision already but still many schools’ curriculum did not reflect the willingness and accuracy well. For the schools planning successful accreditation in near future, it is recommended that they prioritize the establishment of the shared mandatory course and the practicum course since these two subjects are recognized as critical factors for that. In addition, it is also needed of comparative inspections for course title and syllabi based on the guideline provided by Ministry of Health & Welfare.

Objective : The purposes of this study are to examine the correlations among work ability and sleep quality in bus driver and to find the factors affecting work ability. Methods : The participants were 120 inpatients with bus driver. The Work Ability Index(WAI) was used for measuring work ability and the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) was utilized to measure sleep quality. The relationships among the variables were examined with Pearson correlation coefficients. And the stepwise multiple regression analysis were performed to identify the predictive variables that explain changes of work ability. Results : As a result of analyzing correlation of variables affecting work ability, there was negative correlation in contact sleep quality(p<.001) and working hours(p<.001). Finally, Work ability was identified as a factor that explains 48.2% of change in sleep quality(p<.001) and working hours(p<.01). Conclusion : It was found that intimacy of bus driver was a major variable to affect work ability. The sleep quality and working hours should be considered as a way to improve the bus driver work ability.
