Objective : Local Community and Nursing-home of the elderly of the general characteristics and time use compared with the Occupational balance of the two groups is to look at what is being done. Method : The study conducted by the Time Use Survey 2009 of National Statistical office, the results were statistically analyzed 246 by based on more than 65 years of age and older living in Daejeon. The Comparison subjects of this study compared the Daejeon nursing homes in two locations were selected and 146 people of use on the general characteristics and time use data were collected. Analysis using SPSS 12.0 for correlation analysis and multiple logistic regression analysis for the study were analyzed. Result : Local Community and Nursing-home of the elderly are compared. Each classified behavior correlation showed significant results in a difference in a time-use, respectively and also Nursing-home of the elderly, non-activity time in the form of the activity time was higher than the results. Conclusion : Through this research, according to the living environment for elderly people with a time use to find out that there was significant, the elderly living in Nursing-home more than the elderly living in the community and show the imbalance of the Occupational could be.

Objective : The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of video observation training on neglect and ability to perform activities of daily living of stroke patients. Methods : Patients diagnosed with stroke were selected as subjects according to criteria to select the research targets. The additional video observation training besides OT and PT was carried out to 15 patients in an experimental group and sham therapy besides OT and PT was performed to 15 patients in a control group. Line-bisection test were conducted to compare the neglect before and after therapy intervention and FIM was conducted to compare the ability to perform the activities of daily living. Results : The result of this study that we found out that degree of neglect in an experimental group where video observation training was carried out improved neglect and the ability to perform activities of daily living. Conclusion : The video observation training the video observation training is expected to be useful in clinics.

Objective : The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of crafts and handwriting on bilateral coordination during task performance. Methods : Randomly selected 30 college students without hand disability were invited for the study, and grouped 3(test group 1 for crafts, test group 2 for handwriting, and control group) with 10 students per group respectively. Then Jebsen-taylor hand function test, Purdue pegboard test, and Minnesota manual dexterity test were employed for evaluating changes before and after the intervention. Results : After training intervention of crafts and handwriting for two test groups, test groups showed better bilateral coordination significantly than the control group. Especially test group 1(crafts) showed a bigger difference at Jebsen-taylor hand function test, and likely test group 2(handwriting) did at Purdue pegboard test. Conclusion : It was found that crafts increase bilateral coordination, while handwriting increase hand dexterity during task performance. That is, crafts and handwriting affect tasks differently. Further studies applying various crafts and handwriting for many age groups will be helpful for identifying the better way of occupational intervention for individuals in lack of bilateral coordination.

Objective : The purpose of this study is to find out the effects of a Home-based cognitive occupational therapy program conducted for the dementia patients in the initial stages living in Taebaek region in Gangwon-do. Methods : This study carried out Home-based cognitive occupational therapy intervention by 30 Occupational Therapy Dept. students and volunteers targeting 30 dementia patients in the initiative stages for eight sessions, once a week. To identify the change of cognitive function of the participants before and after the program, MMSE-K was used for measuring. Results : As a result of applying Home-based cognitive occupational therapy to the dementia patients in the initial stages, overall cognitive function improvement was demonstrated. Especially, statistically significant improvement was exhibited in orientation, memory retrieval, the concentration of attention, and language ability. Conclusion : The program for cognitive function improvement is considered to be usefully applied to intervention in the dementia patients. The development of various Home-based occupational therapy intervention programs is required in order to adopt the Home-based occupational therapy service in the future.

Objective : The purpose of this study was to comparatively analyze time use and quality of life in stroke patients who use Local community or convalescent Hospital environment. Methods : The study subjects were 74 stroke patients who were admitted to convalescent Hospital or who were being rehabilitated as outpatients. The Occupational Questionnaire(OQ)was used for measuring time use and the Stroke Specific Quality of Life(SS-QOL) utilized to measure Quality of life. Excluding 8 patients who did not fit selection criteria, 66 patients were selected and analyzed. Results : After comparatively analyzing time use in Local community and convalescent Hospital environment, significant differences were found in daily living(p<.05), resting(p<.05). In addition, in quality of life, significant differences were found in family(p<.05), self-management(p<.05), and social roles(p<.05). Conclusion : Local community patients used their time in daily living, resting more efficiently than convalescent Hospital patients, and also had a higher quality of life.

Objective : This study was aimed to survey the correlation between time usage and hope in 20s and 30s the disabled. Methods : From November to December 2012, 52 the disabled who have therapy in rehabilitation hospital in Busan and Gyeongnam, being diagnosed with spinal cord injury and stroke, were chosen. Semi-structured interview was carried out using a questionnaire involved time usage and hope. Results : The followings are the results of this study. First, the participants spent most time sleeping (10:47) and using media (3:41) on weekends. In additions, they spent most time sleeping (9:43) and health management (5:12) on weekdays. Second, doing household chores were positive correlation (.688) between time usage and hope (p<.05). However, no significant differences in time usage and hope. Conclusion : The results of this study would contribute to propose various activities for 20s and 30s the disabled.

Objective : The objectives of this study were to compare the variables from Fitmeter accelerometer with them from CMS-70P(Zebris Medizintechnik Gmbh, Germany) and to suggest the availability the accelerometer in the field of occupational therapy. Methods : Twenty participants performed calling, drinking water, washing face and spooning and we measured Sum of Single Vector Magnitude(SSVM) and range of motion(ROM) on the wrist and elbow joints. Results :With respect to the wrist and elbow joints, SSVM and ROM differed significantly according to the task(calling, drinking water, washing face and spooning)(p<.001; p<.001; p<.001; p<.001). As for the wrist joint, SSVM and ROM did not show the significant correlation(p>.05) but as for the elbow joint, SSVM and ROM did show the significant correlation according to the task(p<.01; p<.001; p<.01; p<.05). With regard to the SVM -difference of wrist and elbow joints, calling and washing showed the significant difference (p<.001; p<.05) but drinking and spooning did not show the significant difference(p>.05; p>.05). Conclusion : We suggest that Fitmeter accelerometer would be use to record the kinematic variables during performance of ADL and it can compensate the function of CMS-70P as for the elbow joint than the wrist joint.

Objective : We tested the effect of mirror treatment on patients with and without unilateral neglect over a period of 4 weeks. We also wanted to know the effect of mirror treatment with regards to improving upper extremity function and dealing with activities of daily living. Methods : Subjects were 10 hemiplegia patients with unilateral neglect and 10 hemiplegia patients without unilateral neglect. They visited the department of occupational therapy. We performed mirror treatment for 30 minutes, 5 times a week for 4 weeks. We used Albert Test to compare our results from before and after the treatment, Fugl-Meyer motor function Assessment(FMA) and Box & Block Test(BBT) for upper extremity function, and Functional Independence Measure(FIM) for activities of daily living. Results : The results showed that mirror treatment had an effect on stroke patients with unilateral neglect. The treatment also had an effect on upper extremity function and activities of daily living regardless of unilateral neglect. Conclusion : The mirror treatment showed improvements on upper extremity function and activities of daily life as well as a reduction in the unilateral neglect after a stroke. In conclusion, the mirror treatment is useful for recovering function and improvement and for helping the patients complete activities of daily living.

Objective : Commonly experienced as an occupational therapist to reveal the meaning of conflict, development by providing information on the quality of official development plan for therapists were willing to contribute. Method : In this study using Parse's human becoming method to collect and analyze data. Participants to understand purpose of the study's researchers and that can be spoken honestly their experience through dialogue were selected eight people as a clinical occupational therapist. Conversation period January-February 2012 was, at the time of about 30-40 minutes, Every conversation is more than three times for each participant were conducted. Result : Experience of occupational therapists, occupational therapy as a conflict of identity confusion and lack of awareness, feeling that comes from a poor working environment and social life, mental conflict, payroll issues to worry about, but concerns about the treatment of the future with hope and effort in the process was an experience. However, external, internal conflicts despite the uneasy reality academic experience for self-development and growth, and the development towards a positive future was out over it. Conclusion : Away from the internal and external conflicts therapists, occupational therapy and establish the identity of satisfaction and quality of care for the treatment to improve their physical and social environment, continuous improvement is necessary.

Objective : The purpose of this study is to understand Lived Experience of Suffering for family of victim with Sewol-ho ferry accident and to suggest the necessity of mental health occupational therapy regarding of psychological trauma of family of victim. Methods : This study was applied with Parse's Human becoming research method to recognize experience pain for 5 objects losing family with with Sewol-ho ferry accident. According to Parse's research mothod, secondary data, documentary video about experience pain of family of victim with Sewol-ho ferry accident was selected and analyzed. Results : Three core concept for lived experience of suffering of family with victim with Sewol-ho ferry accident as below statements. 1. Despair and sadness losing family, 2. Impotent feeling and guilty conscience breaking down daily life, 3. Seeking relief from suffering for remaining family. Although there were extreme impotent feeling of losing family with Sewol-ho ferry accident, structural conversion presented as process with denial reality which do not want to accept a death in the family and standing for remaining family. The conceptual integration was expressed to powering from valuing and languaging to connection-separation, revealing-concealingl. Conclusion : Family of victim with Sewol-ho ferry accident is losing meaning of life the goal of life with impotent feeling, despair and depression. It is urgently needed for mental health occupational therapy program to restore disruptive everyday activity and participation in community by developing occupational therapy program through meaningful occupation to family of victim.
