Objective : This study was to investigate the effect of reducing safety risk factors in the elderly through home modification on the level of functional disability. Methods : Among the subjects of the study, 127 elderly people aged 65 years or older who lived in Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City and received community care services, who had the conditions to receive home modification services, were selected as subjects. The study period was from January 2020 to August 2021, and the evaluation tool used the Korean version of the fall risk residential environment assessment (HOME FAST) and the residential environment problem checklist to identify safety risk factors in the home, and the subject's function The World Health Organization Disability Assessment List (WHODAS 2.0) was used to determine the level of disability. According to the evaluation result, home modification intervention was applied according to the subject's desire, and the effectiveness was examined through re-evaluation. Results : As a result of analyzing the effect on the level of functional disability of the subjects, it was confirmed that the fall risk environment factors had a relatively higher impact than the general characteristics. showed a statistically significant difference (p<.001). The level of functional disability improved in all areas (p<.001), and among them, Life activities, Mobility and Participation showed the greatest change in order. Conclusion : Through the modification of the home environment to meet the subject's needs, falls and residential environment problems were statistically significantly reduced, and it was confirmed that the change in the level of functional disability was also statistically significantly improved. In the future, by continuing the home modification service in the community care project, not only the elderly but also all people with disabilities, such as the disabled and children living in the community, participate in activities on their own to live a self-directed life. Efforts are needed to nurture experts, collaborate, and expand service support.

Objective : This study was conducted to develop a assessment tool that can diagnose competencies of occupational therapy major education. Methods : From September 2019 to February 2021, preliminary questions were prepared through analysis of previous a literature review and expert focus meetings, and content validity verification was conducted through an expert panel. This survey question was selected through the second expert focus meeting for items that meet the conditions of items with a content validity of .29 or higher and a standard deviation of less than 1.0. The final question was selected by conducting an exploratory factor analysis on 38 questions in this survey. Results : The finally derived assessment items for occupational therapy major education consisted of 3 categories and 30 factors. The reliability is with 17 questions of major knowledge application ability, 8 questions of ethical consciousness and communication skills ability, and 5 questions of attitude and practical ability(α=.978). Conclusion : The assessment tool developed in this study was presented for objective evaluation of occupational therapy major education. By using the results of this study to evaluate the major competency of students majoring in occupational therapy, it will be possible to help develop and reorganize the major curriculum.

Objective : This study aimed to examine lifestyles of parents of children with disabilities in terms of their time use and to confirm the effect of time use on their boredom. Method : The number of samples was calculated using the G*Power 3.1 program, and a total of 142 parents of children with disabilities were investigated in this study. Occupational Questionnaire (OQ) was used to evaluate lifestyles of the subjects, and the lifestyles were analyzed in regards to the four areas classified as daily living work, leisure, work, and rest. In addition, the Boredom Proneness Scale (BPS) was applied to evaluate boredom of parents of children with disabilities. Pearson's correlation coefficient and multiple linear regression analysis were conducted to confirm the relevance of variables influencing boredom. Result : According to the result of Correlation analysis of variables affecting boredom, work (r=-.179, p<.05), rest (r=-.221, p<.01), and family income (r=-.248, p<.01) showed a negative correlation, and daily living work (r=.294, p<.001) showed a positive correlation. As a result of analyzing the causal relationship of variables affecting boredom, the F value (13.473), which indicates the suitability of the model, was statistically significant (p<.000), and the adjusted-R2 indicated that daily living work (β=.001, p<.001) and family income (β=-.196, p<.01) explained 25% of boredom. Conclusion : Using time passively centered on daily living work can have a negative impact on health and wellness as well as boredom of parents of children with disabilities. Lifestyle redesign considering occupational balance will be a matter that must be considered when approaching rehabilitation interventions to improve the health of parents of children with disabilities in the future.

Objective : The purpose of this study is to develop a personalized life safety prevention service mobile app, K-guard, that can protect the life safety of ordinary citizens, including persons vulnerable to safety, and to verify the effectiveness of the app. Methods : A model of life safety prevention service tailored to the persons vulnerable to safety was applied to an information service platform to prevent actual everyday life safety, and a satisfaction survey and usability evaluation were conducted on 107 subjects after conducting a demonstration service to 200 people in Seo-gu, Daegu-si, Republic of Korea. Results : As a result of the study, the most frequently used item among the app was the daily life risk notification, and 55.14% of the subjects used the app every day. As for the satisfaction level with K-guard confirmed through Mobile Application Rating Scale (MARS), usefulness of information was the highest with 4.15 points, followed by aesthetics with 4.13 points. In the usability evaluation conducted by dividing the subjects into groups of persons without disabilities, those with disabilities, and the elderly, positive responses were mainly low in the elderly group, and there was no significant difference in other groups. Conclusion : This study showed the possibility of developing a inclusive safety management system that can satisfy both persons with and without disabilities, and also confirmed the various needs of those vulnerable to safety that may further embody this possibility.

Objective : The purpose of this study is to determine the incidence of osteoporosis according to lean mass, waist circumference, waist-hip ratio, body mass index, and sleep duration in postmenopausal women over 50 years of age. Methods : The participants of the study were 1,320 postmenopausal women over 50 years of age among those who participated in the 6th community survey of the Korean Genome and Epidemiology Study. Logistic regression analysis was conducted after correcting the characteristic variables affecting osteoporosis to find out the relationship between independent variables and the occurrence of osteoporosis. Statistical significance in the analysis was set at the significance level of less than 0.05. Results : As a result of logistic regression analysis, the risk of osteoporosis decreased by 0.06 times for every 1kg increase in lean body mass. Waist circumference showed an odds ratio of 0.69 (95% CI: 0.53∼0.88) compared to waist circumferences greater than 85 cm than those less than 85 cm. The risk of osteoporosis related to abdominal fat percentage was 0.76 lower in the group with abdominal fat percentage higher than 0.90 than in the group with lower than 0.90, with an odds ratio of 0.76 (95% CI: 0.06∼0.96). Body mass index (BMI) was odds ratio of 0.70 (95% CI: 0.56∼0.89) compared to BMI 25 or more compared to BMI less than 25. As for the sleep duration, the odds ratio of 5 hours or less compared to 6∼7 hours increased the risk of osteoporosis by 1.39 times with an odds ratio of 1.39 (95% CI: 1.05∼1.84), and the odds ratio of 8 hours or more compared to 6∼7 hours of sleep duration increased the odds ratio of 0.77 (95% CI: 0.56 ∼1.06). Conclusion : In this study, it is confirmed that lean mass, waist circumference, waist-hip ratio, body mass index, sleep duration are related with osteoporosis. In order to help prevent the onset of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women over 50 years of age, comprehensive preventive management, including individual appropriate sleep duration and management of lean mass, waist circumference, and BMI levels, is required before osteoporosis evolved.

Purpose : This study was to identify how the perception of the disabled elderly affects relational aggression, clarify the need for an expert improvement program, and provide data for the smooth relationship of the elderly using community elderly facilities. Method : A survey of 134 people was conducted to find out the level of awareness through the acceptance attitude toward disabled elderly for the general elderly aged 65 or older who visit community elderly facilities. Based on the results of the survey, a statistical analysis was conducted to reveal the causal relationship existing in the perception of the general elderly for the elderly with disabilities. Result : First, there was a significant difference in the acceptance attitude toward disabled according to demographic characteristics in terms of final education, spouse presence, and economic level. Second, there was a significant difference in relational aggression according to demographic characteristics at the final education, housing type, and economic level. Third, in the sub-area of the acceptance attitude of the elderly with disabilities, it was found that the acceptance attitude toward disabled, the perception of the work ability of the disabled, and the favor as reason for the disabled affect relational aggression. Conclusion : For the coexistence of the general elderly and the disabled in community elderly facilities, it has been confirmed that there were some areas of negative perception of the disabled elderly, and various efforts will be needed to improve relational aggression.

Objective : The purpose of this study is to apply lifestyle redesign program to college students majoring in occupational therapy to find out the effects on lifestyle, occupational performance, time use, and quality of life. Methods : For 26 college students, the Korean Wellness Life Style Scale (KWLISS) was used to measure lifestyle, the Canadian Occupational Performance Measure (COPM) was used to measure occupational performance, Time Structure Questionnaire (TSQ) was used to measure time use, and the World Health Organization's Quality of Life Abbreviated Version (WHOQOL-Bref) was used to measure quality of life. A Wilcoxon code ranking test was performed to compare before and after intervention. Results : After intervention, the lifestyle type was changed for the highest from the occupational balance type (65.39%) to the learning (labor) overdose type (42.30%), and the mental and intellectual lifestyles showed significant results (p<.05). After the lifestyle redesign program, there were also significant differences in college students' occupational performance, time use, and overall quality of life (p<.05). Conclusion : Lifestyle redesign programs can be used as a form of intervention to improve college students' lifestyle and occupational performance, time use, and quality of life. In the future, research on applying lifestyle redesign programs to various groups should be continuously conducted.

Objective : The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of time-use intervention on occupational participation and self-esteem for the elderly. Methods : From July 5 to September 17, 20 elderly people at the center for dementia were divided into an experimental group and a control group. Model of Human Occupation Screening Tool(MOHOST) was used for occupational participation, and Self-Esteem Inventory(SEI) was used for self-esteem. Results : There was a significant difference in both occupational participation and self-esteem in the experimental group and the control group before and after intervention (p<.05). In both experimental group and the control group, there was a significant difference in occupational participation and self-esteem, and the change in the experimental group was greater than that of the control group (p<.05). As a result of the study, all groups that conducted dementia prevention programs showed improvement in occupational participation and self-esteem, and the experimental group using time-use intervention had a greater effect. Conclusion : This study found that time-use intervention was effective in improving occupational participation and self-esteem in elderly. Thus, if research and supplementation of continuous time-use intervention is conducted, it is expected to have a positive effect on life and improve physical and emotional health by providing opportunities to participate in various activities for the elderly's successful old age.

Objective : The purpose of this study was to investigate the changes in occupational therapists job satisfaction and the status of occupational therapy in rehabilitation of medical centers after the implementation of the rehabilitation medical institution project. Methods : A survey was conducted on 114 occupational therapists working in rehabilitation of medical centers from October 25 to November 18, 2021. The questionnaire consisted of general characteristics, changes in job satisfaction according to the implementation of the rehabilitation medical institution project, current status and perceptions of occupational therapy effects for functional recovery/return to society. For the collected data, frequency analysis and descriptive statistics were conducted using SPSS 25.0. Results : After the implementation of the rehabilitation medical institution project, job satisfaction of occupational therapists was positive in relation to clients, cooperation with occupational therapists, and appropriateness of entrusted work, whereas the level of remuneration, amount of work, and promotion opportunities changed negatively. As a result of analyzing occupational therapy intervention types according to ICF, it is reported that a lot of basic activities of daily livings training was performed for functional recovery and return to society. Intensive rehabilitation therapy was the most common reason for project implementation to help rehabilitation patients in the recovery phase to return to society and functional recovery. Conclusion : This study suggests that there is a need for a way that can improve job satisfaction of occupational therapists in rehabilitation medical institutions and activate the application of insurance fee ‘training for basic and instrumental activities of daily living’. In addition, physical and institutional support for rehabilitation training within the community should be provided.
