Objective : The purpose of this study was to comparatively analyze time use and quality of life in stroke patients who use Local community or convalescent Hospital environment. Methods : The study subjects were 74 stroke patients who were admitted to convalescent Hospital or who were being rehabilitated as outpatients. The Occupational Questionnaire(OQ)was used for measuring time use and the Stroke Specific Quality of Life(SS-QOL) utilized to measure Quality of life. Excluding 8 patients who did not fit selection criteria, 66 patients were selected and analyzed. Results : After comparatively analyzing time use in Local community and convalescent Hospital environment, significant differences were found in daily living(p<.05), resting(p<.05). In addition, in quality of life, significant differences were found in family(p<.05), self-management(p<.05), and social roles(p<.05). Conclusion : Local community patients used their time in daily living, resting more efficiently than convalescent Hospital patients, and also had a higher quality of life.

Objective : This study was aimed to survey the correlation between time usage and hope in 20s and 30s the disabled. Methods : From November to December 2012, 52 the disabled who have therapy in rehabilitation hospital in Busan and Gyeongnam, being diagnosed with spinal cord injury and stroke, were chosen. Semi-structured interview was carried out using a questionnaire involved time usage and hope. Results : The followings are the results of this study. First, the participants spent most time sleeping (10:47) and using media (3:41) on weekends. In additions, they spent most time sleeping (9:43) and health management (5:12) on weekdays. Second, doing household chores were positive correlation (.688) between time usage and hope (p<.05). However, no significant differences in time usage and hope. Conclusion : The results of this study would contribute to propose various activities for 20s and 30s the disabled.

Objective : The objectives of this study were to compare the variables from Fitmeter accelerometer with them from CMS-70P(Zebris Medizintechnik Gmbh, Germany) and to suggest the availability the accelerometer in the field of occupational therapy. Methods : Twenty participants performed calling, drinking water, washing face and spooning and we measured Sum of Single Vector Magnitude(SSVM) and range of motion(ROM) on the wrist and elbow joints. Results :With respect to the wrist and elbow joints, SSVM and ROM differed significantly according to the task(calling, drinking water, washing face and spooning)(p<.001; p<.001; p<.001; p<.001). As for the wrist joint, SSVM and ROM did not show the significant correlation(p>.05) but as for the elbow joint, SSVM and ROM did show the significant correlation according to the task(p<.01; p<.001; p<.01; p<.05). With regard to the SVM -difference of wrist and elbow joints, calling and washing showed the significant difference (p<.001; p<.05) but drinking and spooning did not show the significant difference(p>.05; p>.05). Conclusion : We suggest that Fitmeter accelerometer would be use to record the kinematic variables during performance of ADL and it can compensate the function of CMS-70P as for the elbow joint than the wrist joint.

Objective : We tested the effect of mirror treatment on patients with and without unilateral neglect over a period of 4 weeks. We also wanted to know the effect of mirror treatment with regards to improving upper extremity function and dealing with activities of daily living. Methods : Subjects were 10 hemiplegia patients with unilateral neglect and 10 hemiplegia patients without unilateral neglect. They visited the department of occupational therapy. We performed mirror treatment for 30 minutes, 5 times a week for 4 weeks. We used Albert Test to compare our results from before and after the treatment, Fugl-Meyer motor function Assessment(FMA) and Box & Block Test(BBT) for upper extremity function, and Functional Independence Measure(FIM) for activities of daily living. Results : The results showed that mirror treatment had an effect on stroke patients with unilateral neglect. The treatment also had an effect on upper extremity function and activities of daily living regardless of unilateral neglect. Conclusion : The mirror treatment showed improvements on upper extremity function and activities of daily life as well as a reduction in the unilateral neglect after a stroke. In conclusion, the mirror treatment is useful for recovering function and improvement and for helping the patients complete activities of daily living.

Objective : Commonly experienced as an occupational therapist to reveal the meaning of conflict, development by providing information on the quality of official development plan for therapists were willing to contribute. Method : In this study using Parse's human becoming method to collect and analyze data. Participants to understand purpose of the study's researchers and that can be spoken honestly their experience through dialogue were selected eight people as a clinical occupational therapist. Conversation period January-February 2012 was, at the time of about 30-40 minutes, Every conversation is more than three times for each participant were conducted. Result : Experience of occupational therapists, occupational therapy as a conflict of identity confusion and lack of awareness, feeling that comes from a poor working environment and social life, mental conflict, payroll issues to worry about, but concerns about the treatment of the future with hope and effort in the process was an experience. However, external, internal conflicts despite the uneasy reality academic experience for self-development and growth, and the development towards a positive future was out over it. Conclusion : Away from the internal and external conflicts therapists, occupational therapy and establish the identity of satisfaction and quality of care for the treatment to improve their physical and social environment, continuous improvement is necessary.

Objective : The purpose of this study is to understand Lived Experience of Suffering for family of victim with Sewol-ho ferry accident and to suggest the necessity of mental health occupational therapy regarding of psychological trauma of family of victim. Methods : This study was applied with Parse's Human becoming research method to recognize experience pain for 5 objects losing family with with Sewol-ho ferry accident. According to Parse's research mothod, secondary data, documentary video about experience pain of family of victim with Sewol-ho ferry accident was selected and analyzed. Results : Three core concept for lived experience of suffering of family with victim with Sewol-ho ferry accident as below statements. 1. Despair and sadness losing family, 2. Impotent feeling and guilty conscience breaking down daily life, 3. Seeking relief from suffering for remaining family. Although there were extreme impotent feeling of losing family with Sewol-ho ferry accident, structural conversion presented as process with denial reality which do not want to accept a death in the family and standing for remaining family. The conceptual integration was expressed to powering from valuing and languaging to connection-separation, revealing-concealingl. Conclusion : Family of victim with Sewol-ho ferry accident is losing meaning of life the goal of life with impotent feeling, despair and depression. It is urgently needed for mental health occupational therapy program to restore disruptive everyday activity and participation in community by developing occupational therapy program through meaningful occupation to family of victim.

Objective : This study intends to suggest an effective clinical intervention method for stroke patients by applying a trunk stabilization training program to a single stroke patient and investigating and analyzing the effects of the program on postural control and activities of daily living. Methods : The subject of this study was a 75 year-old female stroke patient hospitalized in C Hospital located in Gyeongju, Gyeongsangbuk-do. As for the research design, A-B-A reversal design was used with a single subject design; and the research period was a total of five weeks from April 21, 2014 to May 23, 2014. As for the research process, a total of 15 sessions were carried out including three sessions of baseline(A), nine sessions of an intervention period(B), and three sessions of maintenance(A'); and the trunk stabilization program was applied during the intervention period. To evaluate the participant’s postural control and activities of living life, the Postural Assessment Scale for Stroke(PASS) and the modified Barthel Index(MBI) were used. Visual analysis was used in which collected data were plotted on a graph, using Microsoft Office Excel 2013. Results : In the postural control test, the mean scores improved from 11.7 in the baseline phase to 14.8 in the intervention phase and 15.3 in the maintenance phase. In the evaluation of activities of daily living, the score improved from 66(medium dependence) during the baseline period to 80(low dependence) after intervention and at the maintenance phase. Conclusion : It was found that the trunk stabilization training program showed effects on the stroke patient’s postural control or alignment, and furthermore a beneficial improvement in the patient’s performing the activities of daily living, as well.

Objective : In this study, we tried to know what kind of exercise was more effective in sleep disorder by comparing melatonin in blood after applying low, median, with high intensity exercise in sleep disorder. Methods : We divided 90 into 3 groups and performed low, moderate, and high intensity exercise, respectively for 8 weeks in K city. Results : As a result, first, there was a significant change of global PSQI score in moderate intensity exercise comparing with before and after exercise. Second, there was a significant change of global PSQI score in moderate intensity exercise comparing with low and high intensity exercise. Third, there was a significant change of melatonin in blood in moderate intensity exercise comparing with before and after exercise. Forth, there was a significant change of melatonin in blood in moderate intensity exercise comparing with low and high intensity exercise. Conclusion : In this study, we observed change of EEG and melatonin in blood to know how did continued exercise according to intensity of exercise have effect on sleep disorder. In conclusion, it was more effect to apply moderate exercise. It can help progress of life of quality through improvement of sleep disorder and they stay healthy during the rest of time.
