Objective : The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of virtual reality program on fall efficacy and activities of daily living(ADL) for patients with stroke. Method : Twenty stroke patients were participated voluntarily and were assigned randomly into the control and the experimental groups. Both control and experimental groups were given same basic rehabilitation treatment while only the experimental group was given virtual reality program. The fall efficacy of both groups was assessed using fall efficacy scale(FES) and ADL performance ability was assessed by functional independence measure(FIM). Result : Fall efficacy and ADL performance ability showed a statistically meaningful difference for both experimental and control groups(p< .05), the fall efficacy and ADL performance ability of the experimental group improved meaningfully in a statistical way than that of the control group(p<. 05). Conclusion : It was found that carrying out virtual reality program with occupational therapy has an effect on fall efficacy and ADL performance ability of patients with stroke. Therefore, virtual reality program can be a way of treatment for patients with stroke to improve their fall efficacy and ADL performance ability, and the program can also be applied in clinics as well as occupational therapy.

Objective : The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of mental practice on increasing balance and fall index & fall efficacy scale of persons with post stroke. Method : As a single subject research design with multiple baseline across individuals, the patients were four stroke patients, employed in this study. The employed program included receiving mental practice, and measuring balance score changes using FRT for 4 weeks, including baseline and intervention periods. The subject`s fall danger were measured by Fall Index Test(Tetrax) and Fall Efficacy Scale for balance ability were analyzed. The analyses were performed using visually and Two Standard Deviation Band Method. Result : Using FRT, the participants improved their standing balance. During the intervention periods, Their improvement of balance skills results in decreasing Fall Index increasing Fall Efficacy. Objective : This study investigates correlations between job-stress and job-relation feture in occupational therapists in nursing home. Method : For this study, self-reported questionnaires were distributed by online and offline survey to 237 occupational therapist from May to June in 2012. Fifty two of the questionnaires were returned, acceptable 46 survey responses were analyzed, expect 6 unclearly answered. Result : The results correlations between the 6 job-stress factors(confliction of professional role, lack of professional knowledge and skills, problem of personal relationship, disagreement with predecessor(manager, chief, etc), limitation of medical system, inappropriate salary) and 4 job-relation feature(period of job, annual salary, work out of therapy, job stability). Conclusion : This study demonstrates correlations between job-stress factors and job-relation feature in occupational therapist working in nursing home. Job-stress average 3.52points of 5points contributes more affecting the stress. Further research is necessary to more sample occupational therapist in nursing home.

Objective : The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of left visual stimuli for reducing the severity of unilateral neglect. Method : This research used a reversal design(ABAB) of single case study. The subject was a 60-year-old male patient who had left unilateral neglect. Remedial approach is more valuable method than compensatory approach in term of reducing the unilateral neglect. One of the method of remedial approach is controlled sensory stimulation. Result : I performed the line bisection test before and after the stimulation, and while doing that, put blinking lights to the patient from the left side. The average errors in the line bisection test decreased in B B', the intervention period, compared with A A'. The MVPT left response behavior score increased from 13 to 18. Conclusion : This shows that the light stimulation is effective in the reduction of unilateral neglect.

Objective : The objective of this research tried to know the differences about the perception of volunteering between the elderly group of seniors with experience of college's Department of Health Care Services and the elderly group of seniors without it. Method : We researched 79 people aged using the facilities for the elderly and the facilities for welfare for the aged from August 2010 to November 2010. Result : As a result of perception of the old according to whether to experience in services of students in the college of department of health care or not, the old (89%) of the whole person was positive. The perception of the volunteer of student in the department of health care was not a statistical difference between the old group with experience in volunteer service and the old group without it. The field that two groups want to be serviced was the highest in the department of rehabilitation. Conclusion : It is necessary for the university with the functions of social service to provide health and medical service to the old in the community through systematic training to meet their needs.

Objective : The purpose of this study was to investigate recognition and activation plan of community-based rehabilitation(CBR) by occupational therapists(OTs) in community rehabilitation center(CRC) and hospitals/clinics(HC) in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam province. Method : Frequency analysis, independent t-test and chi-squared test were performed with the SPSS 12.0 statistics package program. Result : CRC-OTs and HC-OTs were not significantly different in recognition was not significantly different in both groups. The need for involvement of OTs in CBR was very high in both groups. The suggested field for OTs in CBR were counseling for rehabilitation & information-providing, home-visiting rehabilitation, vocational rehabilitation, assistive device rental, education for disability prevention. It is required to establish CBR networking consisting of educational institutions for rehabilitation experts, local rehabilitation hospitals and clinics, and local government agencies as well as CRC and public health centers. Conclusion : CBR is recognized well by OTs in both CRC and HC and the involvement of OTs in CBR is highly needed by them. Activation plan for occupational therapy in CBR requires systemic and legal improvements.

Objective : The purpose of this study was to provide evidence for effectiveness of community-based rehabilitation methods and results after traumatic brain injury through systematic review. Methods : The materials of the research were collected by retrieving research items in the areas of “community-based rehabilitation" and "traumatic brain injury" from the data base of Ovid and PubMed. Among the collected materials, 7 research results are suggested concerning the effectiveness of rehabilitation in community-based after traumatic brain injury in terms of subjects, measurement tools, cure methods and results. Results : Characteristics of subjects were diverse in numbers of subject, age, level of impairment and duration of disease. Research designs were all experimental studies and the most outcome parameters of community-based rehabilitation was occupational performance(27.7%). Cure methods were used occupational therapy programs concerning rehabilitation programs, cognitive therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy and home based occupational therapy. Conclusion : The results implied that community-based rehabilitation is effective on occupational performance, participation, prevention, and occupational justice, partially effective on adaptation, health and wellness, and non effective on the role competence. It is suggested the future research need to be done to develop intervention programs and studies in every types.

Objective : This study conducted in rural areas, elderly services voucher business and leisure satisfaction survey based on data from the use of community-dwelling older people considering service needs was to find ways to take advantage of leisure time. Methods : Buyeo county residents in this study 71 patients were elderly, the characteristics of elderly gender, the presence of spouse, health status, education level, monthly living expenses, number of children, occupation, and the variables were included. Subjects' self-esteem, life satisfaction, quality of life, program satisfaction questionnaire for the survey were used, t-test and correlation analysis using the correlation between each factor were analyzed. Results : In a survey of participants in leisure activities, TV watching, meeting friends, such as phone calls to static and time-consuming activities were surveyed about satisfaction of the voucher business, the elderly oral health care services, health screening services, sports massage such as health-related services is relatively high degree of satisfaction. Conclusion : The results of this study of elderly people in rural communities through meaningful leisure time were utilized to determine what is lacking, a strong desire for health-related services that could be confirmed. Therefore, further experience and knowledge about activities by providing opportunities for meaningful leisure time needs to improve, and it based on a variety of programs to meet the needs of the elderly should be provided.

Objective : The purpose of this study was to identify Effects of the ROM dance on cognitive function, neuropsychiatric in using wheelchair senior in nursing home. Methods : The subjects of the experimental group were 15 seniors using wheelchair who attended an ROM dance program in a nursing home. It was carried out for 18 weeks from Mar. 2010. to August. 2010. The evaluation tools used for the presented study were the Mini-Mental Status Exam-Korean(MMSE-K) and Neuropsychiatric Inventory-Questionaire (NPI-Q). Results : In the terms of cognitive function there was no significant defference between the mean pre/post test. but the factor(orientation of time) of MMSE-K and the factors 2 (sleep/nighttime behavios, apathy/indefference) of NPI-Q was significant improvement. Conclusion : In this study, the ROM dance program was effective in improving cognitive function and neuropsychiatric in seniors using wheelchair. also ROM dance program was decreasing and regression delay effect in cognitive and neuropsychiatric.

Objective : The purpose of study was to verify the clinical effect of a Korean Computer-based cognitive rehabilitation program(called CoTras) for recovering the visual perception function and ADL in stroke. Methods : A CBCRT was applied to 14 Stoke patients who rehabilitation professional medical treatment hospital. All participant were evaluated with four standardized assessment tolls(Motor-Free Visual Perception Test; MVPT, Korean version of Mini-Mental State Examination; MMSE-K, Assesment of Motor and Process Skills: AMPS) before and after the planned computer based cognitive rehabilitation sessions. Results : A significant effect was confirmed (p<.05) from the CBCRT which visual perception function. By each entry comparative result, visual memory, figure ground, visual close, spatial relation, visual discrimination, were the order of treatment. Neither was found any significant effect in improving process skills from AMPS. Conclusion : These results indicate that CoTras have effects on improving visual perception and ADL performance in stroke patients. Will be able to present with the fundamental data CoTras will be able to contribute to increase visual perception function & ADL performance to the stroke patient who has visual perception dysfunction.
